Time to integrate the Sustainability Reporting - The collaboration of the different frameworks

Richard Howitt

CEO International Integrated Reporting Council

«There is a growing trend towards integration and convergence of all different standards as far as non-financial reporting is concerned. Greek companies must focus on materiality. One example of integrated reporting is the Greek Sustainability Code which follows this overall philosophy. The Code is a simple, concise tool that helps Greek companies to follow these trends and realize what it really matters and is important to their business»

Sustainable Finance

Mrs. Charoula Apalagaki

General Secretary, Hellenic Bank Association

«Sustainable development has been around for many years. In the Greek market there are many examples with regards to these issues in the Greek legislation at the Symvoulio tis Epikrateias from the 90s & 2000s.

Sustainable development is now well established on a legal basis.  This is due to the fact that the way a company operates contributes to sustainable financing. The compatibility of businesses with the Greek Sustainability Code can provide a confirmation of their responsible operation, thus facilitating their financing. The first two pillars of the Greek Sustainability Code, in terms of strategy and processes, point out the way a business operate, very important to financial institutions when they make risk assessments in connection to financing.»
